Rosary with round matte polished dumortierite Hail Mary beads and round polished pyrite Our Fathers, with a two-sided Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary center and a many hearts crucifix.
Symbolism in This Rosary
Dumortierite was first described in 1881 after a discovery of a deposit in Chapanost, France, and named after paleontologist Eugene Dumotier. It is at times called “the denim stone” or “petrified water.” Its calm blue comes from aluminum in its fibrous aluminum boro-silicate crystals.
Pyrite derives its name for the Greek work for “fire,” and was used as a fire-starter in place of flint since prehistoric times, as it sparks when struck against iron or steel. Also called “fool’s gold,” its raw form resembles gold nuggets---it is actually, in its pure form, iron sulfide, and was mined to produce sulfur before sulfur was more easily obtained from oil.
The use of these two minerals was for their fire / water contrast, and for the symbolism of Christ's burning love in His Sacred Heart, as well as the water of our baptism.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus represents Christ’s unconditional love for all humanity, as well as his suffering for us. It at times is depicted with a cross over it or the fire of his burning love.
The Immaculate Heart of Mary represents Mary’s three-part love---her virginal love for God the Father, her maternal love for God the Son, and her compassion for the entire world.
Our goal is to provide you a rosary, not just sell you a rosary. We use only stainless steel eyepins, linkages, and jump rings for both their strength and durability. If there is any defect in the workmanship of a rosary you purchase from us, please let us know, and we will make it right, free of charge, including shipping, within the first year of purchase. Also, for as long as we make rosaries (a lifetime, we hope!), if a rosary we made for you ever has a broken linkage, eyepin, or jump ring, we will be happy to repair it, with cost limited to shipping. Whatever we can do to keep you praying!
